Rivalry Half Marathon supports the high schools of Fayette County

The race starts and finishes at: Starrs Mill High School 193 Panther Path Fayetteville, GA 30215 Most of the race is through Peachtree City, GA located about 30 miles south of the Hartsfield- Jackson Atlanta International Airport. From the airport take I-85 South to Exit 61 (Hwy 74 Peachtree City) about 11 miles. Turn left on Hwy 74 South. Continue about 16.8 miles. The school is on the left just past Redwine Rd. Enter the lot and look for the main lot on the right (between the school and the football stadium)

Half Marathon Runners will receive a race shirt. Finishers will receive a medal. 5k runners will receive a race shirt. Shirts and medals are subject to availability for registrations received after July 15th.
Registration is available online at active.com or a printable form and waiver are available for mail-in entries. Active charges a small fee for registration.

A portion of the profits from the races will be divided between 6 high schools in Fayette County, Ga. Each school receives points based on race participation, half marathon finishing position, volunteer and support, race shirt design contest and a video contest. Select a school when you register or volunteer. The pot will be divided in the following manner:

2nd Place 20%
3rd Place 16%
4th through Last 13%

5k participant 30 points
Group volunteer (10 person minimum) 50 points
Official cheer squad 10 points
Official Mascot 5 points
Race shirt design winner 50 points
Official band 15 points
Video contest: 100 views 1000 views 10,000 views 100,000 views 1,000,0000 views or more 5 points 10 points 15 points 20 points 40 points

Half marathon participants must be at least 12 years old on race day and in good health. Pacing requirements: Half marathon participants must finish in under 4 hours, a pace of about 16 minutes/mile. See our training page for training advice and strategies. For many runners Jeff Galloway’s run-walk method is a fun and effective way to train for the half marathon. Cool Running also has many free training plans.
Baby joggers, strollers, baby carriers, baby backpacks, inline skates, scooters, motorized scooters, bicycles, skateboards, canes, crutches, walkers, walking sticks and animals of any kind are prohibited from the course. Please follow all safety related signs and safety personnel instructions. The course narrows in several places and there may be pedestrians, bicycles and golf carts on city paths so use caution. September in Georgia can be quite hot and humid. Be sure to stay well hydrated. There will be 8 hydration stations along the half marathon course. The race will be held rain or shine.
